A volcanic island in the southeastern Caribbean, Grenada is just 21 miles long and 12 miles wide. It is so small, it can be seen in a day, but you should take all the time you need to check out the beautiful black-sand beaches, lush rainforests, mountain lakes and stunning waterfalls.
When we think about travelling south we often summon the usual suspects: Florida, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and the trusted B’s (Bahamas, Barbados and Bermuda). But this is your honeymoon, and maybe your honeymoon should be about checking out new options. Maybe something a little spicy?
And Grenada certainly has plenty of spice; it is affectionately called the “Island of Spice”, as it’s one of the largest producers of nutmeg in the world. It is not yet a popular sun destination and is relatively untouched by tourism making the island a wonderfully exotic and quiet locale. The beaches are beautiful – Pink Gin Beach is as glorious as the name suggests. There are ten great restaurants and we sampled many of them. Take either a half day or full day excursion. A must-see is Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve (a mini rainforest that boasts beautiful Annadale Waterfall).

Destination Wedding
Nasasha White, Sandals wedding planner extraordinaire, says that the size of the wedding doesn’t matter. For Nasasha, every wedding is unique – whether it’s a couple renewing their vows or a large wedding party – and she personalizes every detail. I have never met a woman who loves planning weddings more than Nasasha! The location options for the ceremony are countless, but consider the beach, or one of the many gardens or a gazebos.
You can create a custom wedding of your own or ask about their Beautiful Beginnings weddings. Their specialty is WeddingMoons – where customizable weddings are followed by a dream honeymoon, blended in one luxury package. Exotic destination, cascading waterfalls, lush rainforests, sky pools, butlers, sanctuary suites, private plunge pools, world-class dining, sunshine and miles of sand. Have we got your attention?
